Public Works Permit

A permit process is in place for all works being performed on the Town’s property (Right-of-Way). Such works include new driveway accesses, hard surfacing of driveways on Town property, existing access widening, curb cuts, etc. The water application is seamlessly incorporated within the Public Works application, enhancing its functionality and allowing for a more streamlined user experience.

Permit application forms are available at the following locations:

  • Public Works & Engineering (for existing modifications): 512 Sandwich St S, Amherstburg, ON N9V 3R2
  • Building Department – Libro Complex (for new builds): 3295 Meloche Rd, Amherstburg, ON N9V 3N8

Completed applications and associated permit fees can be submitted in person to the Public Works Department at 512 Sandwich Street South.

Accompanying the application the owner/ contractor must provide the following:

  • Permit fee (refer to application)
  • Indemnity deposit (refer to application on amount needed, refunded after final inspection)
  • $2,000,000 commercial general liability insurance naming the Town additionally insured

Once the application has been reviewed and all applicable fees and insurance have been received a permit will be issued for the works.
