2025 Spay and Neuter Voucher Program
The Town of Amherstburg will release 80 vouchers valued at $50 each:
- 80 vouchers will be allocated to address the feral cat population within the Town of Amherstburg as noted below;
- 5 vouchers will be allocated to low income cat owners.
- 20 vouchers will be allocated to Amherstburg Cat Support Crew to address feral cats through their spay/neuter program.
- 45 vouchers will be allocated residents to address the feral cat problem within Amherstburg. Residents can contact ACSC for assistance with feral cats in their neighbourhoods.
- 10 vouchers will be allocated to Cat Assistance Team to address feral cats through their spay/neuter and adoption programs.
Resident Spay and Neuter Vouchers for Feral Cats
Resident vouchers are only intended for use for the feral cat population in Amherstburg. Veterinarians and animal clinics participating in the Program will be unable to spay or neuter owned cats.
Residents may provide completed applications to the Licensing Officer at Town Hall. A piece of identification with proof of residency in Amherstburg is required.
A maximum of 3 spay and neuter vouchers per household are available for feral cats. Each voucher is valued at $50.00 and can be used at participating veterinary clinics.
All veterinarian and animal clinics in Windsor and Essex County have been contacted about participating in the Town of Amherstburg Spay and Neuter Program. Vouchers will be redeemable only at veterinarian and animal clinics who have agreed to participate in the program.
Low Income Cat Spay and Neuter Voucher
Vouchers for owned cats are reserved for low-income families.
One voucher will be issued per household.
Residents wishing to receive a low income spay/neuter voucher can access the form by clicking on the link below, a limited number of vouchers are available. A piece of identification with proof of residency in Amherstburg is required on pick-up. Proof of income for members of the household is also required, on pick-up.
Quantities are limited and available on a first come, first served basis.
